NZME. New
Building Fitout

What a cool project to be involved in! BIG came on board early in the piece and worked closely with NZME.’s internal design team as they developed wild and outrageous creative concepts for their new building fitout. BIG feeds off that stuff! We implemented various interactive features around the offices, including a 3D visual illusion which popped off the wall when viewed through 3D glasses made from transparent red and blue vinyl. Bursts of colour appear around every corner with transparent films, complimenting each radio station’s router-cut logos mounted on the walls.

A beautiful finish was achieved on all of the window treatments, created by reverse-printing onto optically clear film. Some of the wall-mounted elements featured illuminated backlighting with digitally printed faces. Those with a keen eye will discover NZME. “sprinkles” — little vinyl-cut surprises applied high and low.

The external NZME. logo is the masterpiece of the show: individually fabricated lightboxes with colour-changing letters on a custom mounting system installed on the glass ‘curtain’, which was an engineering challenge.

Overall the finished product looks fantastic, and the graphics are the final layer to compliment the building’s stunning architecture and  interior design.
