A message from BIG’s Company Director, Ross Hall:
On a daily basis, I reflect on how lucky I am to have such passionate, devoted and skilled staff who walk through our doors every morning.
Each and every one of them strives to produce the best of the best craftsmanship on any project they touch, exploring new ways of achieving the ultimate outcome for our customers from design through to execution, while building confidence and experience in the ever-evolving signage industry.
This past weekend at the New Zealand Sign Display Awards 2025, I’m humbled to share that a landslide of awards came our way.
One of the highlights was a double win by one of our apprentices, Beau Little, taking home a GOLD AWARD in the Work By An Apprentice category, followed by the Keith Langstone Highflyer, awarded to a recipient that is dedicated, driven, and eager to learn.
To my entire team, I admire every one of you. Congratulations – you truly are the brightest stars in the industry.

Stretched VW Beetle Promo Vehicle
Self Promotion – GOLD
Reimagined 2VDUBS, our custom-built stretched VW Beetle, with striking yellow and black branding, new upholstery, accessory upgrades, and LEDs – transforming this showpiece into the ultimate mobile advertisement with street-stopping presence.
Emirates Team NZ Racing Helmets
Signs – GOLD
Branded Emirates Team New Zealand’s racing helmets with reflective chrome blue and custom vinyl, hand-applied to a challenging curved surface, then sealed for a durable, high-performance finish that dazzled on water.
Royal NZ Navy Plinths
Work by an Apprentice – GOLD
Third-year apprentice Beau Little carried out the fabrication and installation of two information plinths at the Royal NZ Navy, demonstrating exceptional skill, precision and professionalism from start to finish.
Royal NZ Navy Training Room
Digital Illustrations and Murals – SILVER
A realistic replica of a Navy frigate’s command bridge, digitally printed using precision photography and complex editing to transform a training room into a lifelike and immersive ship scene.
Mānuka Phuel Supercan
Dimensional Signage & Modelling – SILVER
Designed and built a larger-than-life supercan mounted onto a refitted trailer to accompany a mobile DJ booth, creating a powerful promotional presence.
Mānuka Phuel Synthony Event
Exhibition & Display – SILVER
Delivered full branding for Mānuka Phuel’s launch, including a custom trailer, supercan, DJ setup, signage, merchandise, and event activations – creating a bold, high-energy presence at Synthony Festival 2025.
Pipeline & Infrastructure Boardroom
Theming – BRONZE
A Portacom transformed into an immersive, construction-themed training room featuring LED-lit signage, custom graphics, and furniture built from actual drainage pipes – designed to reflect the company culture and motivate staff.
Rosie’s Red-Hot Cantina, Viaduct
Theming – BRONZE
Produced interior graphics and custom illuminated signage for Rosie’s Red-Hot Cantina, including vibrant band-poster murals and a programmable RGB LED sign styled to resemble 3D neon.
Queens Rooftop Bar
Illuminated Signage – BRONZE
Created a custom illuminated sign for Queens Rooftop Bar, featuring precision LED detailing, a hand-finished steel frame, and onsite welding – delivering bold wayfinding and a standout finish.
Egg’d Store
Theming – BRONZE
Created a fun, egg-themed fitout for the Egg’d trial store, featuring artistic wall graphics, playful lighting, and vibrant exterior signage to deliver an engaging dining experience.
